What’s it all about?

Water is essential to our lives and to the Eco-system of the Earth. Yet, have you ever observed and contemplated the wisdom demonstrated by the shapeless and formless stage of water?

You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”  —– Bruce Lee

Although passive, water can move through all things.  Whilst gentle, water can wear away rocks.  It flows without any resistance, it nourishes all things without any judgements.

What will we cover?

In this workshop, we invite you to join us at an Experiment of “Being Like Water”, which is a central concept in the ancient Chinese Taoism.

Together, we will look at some ancient teachings in Tao De Jing (道德经)for its wisdom, but we will also explore what ‘Being Like Water’ means to you, and how relevant this could be for our modern day life:
–       Can you love like water without any conditions?

–       Can you relate to others like water without any judgement?

–       Can you live our lives like water without resistance?

In order to ground our understanding, we will infuse the workshop with playful exercises, mindful and heartful meditations to allow you to discover your unique understanding of being like water.

Who will be teaching?

Elva Zhang cropElva Zhang is the founder of Peace Lab, which was created to provide a new way to cultivate well-being, positive mindset and build stronger connections.

Originally from China, Elva came to study in Australia as an international student after completing high school.  She is a lawyer by profession, who used to be SO serious! Peace Lab was therefore born out of her own experiences dealing with stress, anxiety and negative self-talks.   Elva loves synthesising wisdom from ancient Eastern philosophies (Chinese Taoism, Buddhism and Indian yogi traditions) and new discoveries from Western science (such as neuroplasticity). She is feeling lucky that nowadays she can share her passion for well-being and self-understanding through Peace Lab while stilling being able to work as a lawyer.

You can find Peacelab on Facebook and Instagram.
