What’s it all about?

Handmade baskets are a beautiful item to have in your home and a relaxing craft to get involved in.

Raffia baskets are an easy way to learn the essentials of basket making, from here you can build up to bigger and brighter things. This guided tutorial will give you plenty of skills to take home and practice with.

What will we cover?

In this hands-on workshop we will learn the basic building blocks for starting a simple cup-shaped basket. Using coloured raffia and needles, we will start you on your way to basket weaving.

From here, we will then explore alternative materials you may find in the home and variations on this theme to try at your own leisure.
