What’s it all about?

If you are planning a trip to Europe, check out the Baltic’s Latvia and Lithuania in Europe’s north. Budget friendly to travel, eat out and stay, without the massive crowds of major popular cities in Europe. Latvia’s capital Riga will excite you with its magnificent botanical gardens, medieval old town, Gothic cathedrals, world class art museums, local markets, cafes, bars and delicious cuisine. You will love low cost Vilnius too, Lithuania’s capital city. Enjoy walking in the old town and spending an afternoon at the amazing Illusion Museum. See Vilnius’ writer’s street, art displays and shops, the landmark Castle Hill, Cathedral Hill and the Jewish district. Explore the two countries’ cities, national parks, sea-side resorts, palaces, Baroque masterpieces stunning scenery and adventure playgrounds, all at a fraction of a cost that you will spend in many other European countries.

What will we cover?

You will learn how to travel to Riga or Vilnius from other European cities, currency used, in-city discount travel tickets to buy, getting from the airport to downtown, best time to travel, how to find low cost comfortable accommodation. We will also cover travelling across both countries by low cost international buses and trains. Find out the best attractions to visit in the capitals and the local cuisine.

Learn about Latvia’s Jurmula beach, beautiful Kuldiga and Cesis as well as Lithuania’s beautiful historic Kaunas and Klaipeda, the port city on the country’s west coast. Learn about cultural do’s and don’ts of Latvia and Lithuania and some handy words in both languages to help you communicate with the locals, which always adds to the joy of travelling.

Who will be teaching?

Carole Goldsmith is an international business journalist, trainer and assessor. She has travelled across Asia and Europe for work and pleasure for over 25 years and then passes on her tips with travellers in courses across Australia.  She will share her Latvian and Lithuanian travel adventures and tips with you.
