What’s it all about?

Bamboo is considered a vegetal steel and a sustainable material for the future. It is used to make various things starting from a toothbrush to a building. Would you like to learn about bamboo and how to make a bamboo pendant lampshade?

What will we cover?

You will learn the basics of bamboo and while making a small pendant lampshade using bamboo skewers based on the principle hyperboloids. Once the basic structure is done you will be able to add your own creative touches and colour to customise your own lamp shade. The same shape can be used to make various things like pen holders, stools, display stands and many more.

Who will be teaching?

Munir Vahanvati is the co-founder of Giant Grass and has been working with bamboo for more than 10 years. He has conducted various bamboo construction workshops across Australia and presented at international bamboo conferences.
