What’s it all about?
Most of us have access to unwanted fabric, whether that is little pieces of annoying fabric scraps leftover from sewing projects, torn and unwearable clothing, or old pillowcases, this class will teach you how to put that fabric to good use, to make a pretty rosette flower brooch, for yourself or as a gift.
What will we cover?
This class will show you how to make little pieces of material into rosette flowers, by using a simple twisting technique, a needle and thread. You can wear your brooch on your lapel, brighten up a handbag, or attach a hair pin and wear in your hair. At last, something useful to make with fabric scraps that may otherwise end up in the bin!
Who will be teaching?
Erica Louise likes to make new things out of old. She creates objects out of recyclable or otherwise wasteful matter. A quote from her blog, (Recycled Fashion); “fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth, environmentally or financially”. Erica rarely buys new, preferring to op shop, and craft original gifts, home accessories and fashion pieces out of second hand and unwanted materials. She also runs an online marketplace (Recycled Market) which sells products made with recycled materials, and enjoys teaching other people how to save material from landfill, to make eco-friendly DIY products.
