What’s it all about?

In just an hour and a quarter, we’ll teach you how to think differently about unwanted household paper.

Did you think you could craft old newspaper, junk mail, magazines, discarded maps or music sheets into a funky household accessory or gift? No? You can, and you’ll be taught how in a single evening.

What will we cover?

Learn a simple technique of folding, gluing and folding paper to make a small bowl to hold your keys, or a large bowl for your fruit. The same technique will allow you to create recycled drink coasters, earrings, or even the potential to make large floor mats and seat covers.

You’ll leave the class learning a simple craft which can be achieved on an almost zero budget, by using material that has the potential to otherwise end up in landfill.

Who will be teaching?

Erica LouiseErica Louise likes to make new things out of old.  She creates objects out of recyclable or otherwise wasteful matter.  A quote from her blog (Recycled Fashion); “fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth, environmentally or financially”.  Erica rarely buys new, preferring to op shop, and craft original gifts, home accessories and fashion pieces out of second hand and unwanted materials.  She also runs an online marketplace (Recycled Market) which sells products made with recycled materials, and enjoys teaching other people how to save material from landfill to make eco-friendly DIY products.
