What’s it all about?

Do you love clothes and the environment? Wondering how to reconcile high eco-principles with high fashion – or high heels, for that matter? Want to learn how to avoid being a weapon of mass consumption?

Fashion is the world’s second most polluting industry after oil. We’re becoming increasingly aware of the unsustainable nature of ‘fast fashion’, but most of us are unsure how to address it.

This class gives you some practical steps you can take to reduce your fashion footprint. It will show even the most die hard shopaholic how you can satisfy your desire and salve your conscience.

What will we cover?

  • The principles of slow fashion
  • Shopping your wardrobe
  • The joys of clothes swaps and op-shopping
  • Making do and mending

Who will be teaching?

Peta Stephenson profile picturePeta Stephenson is a personal stylist whose image consultancy is called Dresscode. Her goal is to help her clients buy better, consume less and wear more. She is also the owner of Penny Lane, a clothing exchange in Brunswick where women can swap their old clothes for store credit and take home something new (for them).
