What’s it all about?

Wish you knew how to hula hoop? Turn that “I can’t hula hoop” voice down in your head and let your body talk for itself! Become familiar with moving your body in different ways and make simple hula hoop moves look and feel more fun and captivating!

This class involves learning basic beginner hula hoop moves and introduces concepts and tips on how to bring dance movement to hula hooping. You’ll get thinking of unique ways to transform simple moves into spectacular moves, helping you feel more confident in the hoop.

What will we cover?

This class will cover:

  • Some foundational hula hoop moves
  • Exploring different body segments and their range of movement for dance
  • Using different music genres to inspire different dance styles and movement
  • Group icebreakers and energisers
  • Body awareness, mindfulness and breath work concept

All you need to bring is yourself – hula hoops and music provided!

Who will be teaching?

Lucy NoonanLucy has been practicing hula hoop dance for several years. Having personally felt the many benefits of and passion for this practice, she completed a hula hoop teacher training course in 2014 and has attended several international and national hula hoop conventions to build her knowledge and practice of hula hoop dance. Lucy has also completed facilitation training with the Group Work Institute.

Lucy is a small business owner and hoop dance facilitator of Inner Circle Hooping. She is a qualified fitness instructor and holds a master’s degree in international development. She has experience working with community groups, local government, corporates and young people in a variety of settings. She runs weekly hoop dance and hoop active classes in Burnley and Richmond.
