What’s it all about?

“Intuition is nothing more and nothing less than recognition.”

Daniel Kahneman, Nobel laureate

What’s this weird thing we call intuition? Where does it come from and where does it get its power? Do we have to choose between scientific, rational thought and intuition?

Intuition has helped us survive as a species and as individuals, but how does it fit into modern life? Where does it support is, where does it lead us astray, how is it exploited for political and commercial gain, and what can we do about it?

We will look at the scientific understanding for this crucial survival tool.

What will we cover?

In this class we will cover the relationship between unconscious and conscious processes in the brain and the strengths and weaknesses of each. When to trust your intuition, and when to slow down and think deliberately.

How to listen to your intuition and how to train your intuition, in music, work, in facing your fears and developing new strengths. These insights can be used in your everyday life to support a more integrated life, and support wiser decisions.
