Time to Get Sustainable!

It’s that time of the year again where we get all giddy and excited about taking part in the Sustainable Living Festival! We had a great time last year and we can’t wait to run some more green-thinking classes as a part of this great initiative!

The festival has been running for a number of years now but last year was our first, and it was awesome! The team at SLF put on such a great program but the atmopshere that surrounded the whole event was what made it so special. Great community spirit, inclusivity and creativity – all things that we aspire to at Laneway Learning!

So much more!

The program of events for 2014 looks just as good, if not better, than last year. We have had a quick squizz and picked out some of our favourites for this year! Here we go…

At the Suitcase Rummage you may well find just what you were looking for. Turn someone else’s bric-à-brac into your new favourite thing!

For those who worry about how your commute to work is going to change as the City of Melbourne gets bigger and bigger try the Transport for 6 Million forum. It aims to answer the questions of how can we avoid creating a concrete jungle, congesting our roads and damaging the environment.

For something a little different, we suggest you go and check out The Perky and Fiddle Show best described as a mixture of comedy, street theatre and puppetry. Amazing!

And of course, there is the fantastic Green Market, which will be running from February 14th-16th as part of the Big Weekend. It has experts you can talk to about everything from permaculture to co-housing to ethical investment, along with plenty of ethical and sustainable goods and food stalls to help fulfil your hunger for sustainable-ness throughout the weekend!

We hope to see you down there!
