What’s it all about?

Ever thought it would be cool to be your own personal trainer but you aren’t sure how to do it? Have you ever questioned why some people do 100 reps while others do three? Maybe you’d like to understand what you’re already doing. Come to this class and learn what the gym instructors learnt when they went to beef-cake university and you too can reach the upper echelons of fitness maximus.

If you’ve been going to the gym for a while now, or know what the difference between a bench press and a lat pull down is, it’s time to step it up a notch.

What will we cover?

We will cover some general rules of thumb, a summary of concepts in weight training. The class will focus on three areas of training: strength, size, and endurance. Whatever your goal, there will be something for you. In 75 mins you’ll be given a crash course that will enable you to write programs for yourself, tailored to your individual needs. Using this knowledge you’ll be able to diversify your future programs and increase the difficulty as you progress.

Who will be teaching?

Alisdair Horgen used to work in the fitness industry, now he just enjoys it through gym sessions, cycling and martial arts. There seems to be no end to Alisdair’s talents having already shared his passion for Penguins, Chess and a number of successful beginner Italian classes already under his belt.
