What’s it all about?

Ever wanted to grab your partner and dance like it’s 1929? Well here’s your chance.

Learn to swing, bop and Lindy hop with award winning swing dancing teachers on the recently revealed dance floor of Bennetts Lane Jazz Club. Learn the basics of the swing dance style then jitterbug your way to Melbourne’s fabulous gigs for White Night.

What will we cover?

Our special swing dance class, brought to you by 1929 Studios, is an introduction to the basic rhythms and sequences that make up the main body of swing dancing.

Leaving aerials aside, there’ll be sugar pushes, side passes, swing outs and Charlestons to get your toes around, and if you’re up for it, some tuck turns, whips and even a dip or two! But essentially, it’ll be about finding the fun from your feet to your fingers through dance.

Who will be teaching?

Come and meet Melbourne’s own Swing Dance Award winning Lindy hoppers, Georgia Brooks and her good friend Kieran Yee. Their classes have been amongst the most popular in Melbourne’s history of swing dancing – they know how to keep it real with their charm, wit and toe-turning wisdom.
