What’s it all about?

3D printing is democratising manufacturing, making production capabilities affordable and creating new opportunities across a wide range of industries, including medicine, architecture, food manufacturing, fashion and all of the traditional design and manufacturing industries. Be ahead of the curve!

What will we cover?

We demonstrate our printer and show you the workflow required to take a 3D model and turn it into a printed 3D object. We’ll discuss the various types of 3D printing technology and the various uses to which it has been put. We’ll also briefly look at the history of 3D printing and where it may lead us in the future as well as showing you how to create or obtain printable 3D models.

Who will be teaching?

Scott Phillips is a designer, technologist and lawyer, with a penchant for ideas that are new and shiny. He thinks 3D printing is amazing and would like to share it with you! Aside from this class, he also hosts other workshops across the city, takes his printers on school ‘incursions’ and sells printers to the public. His website has details on all their upcoming workshops.
