What’s it all about?
There’s nothing like a bit of monkey business to put a smile on your face! Sock monkeys have been around for decades and are a fun and easy gift to make for friends and loved ones, big and small. All you need is a pair of socks – preferably new ones – a few bibs and bobs, and some patience.
What will we cover?
After a brief introduction and a little bit of history, we’ll be making sock monkeys. You’ll be provided with a small kit with everything you need, including a partly pre-sewn monkey to give you a head start. From there, you’ll be guided through how to cut, stuff and sew your sock monkey. You’ll walk away with a complete – or well on its way to being complete – sock monkey of your very own, and the know-how to make many more.
Who will be teaching?
Stevie O’Cuana is a lover of arts, crafts and pop culture. Her day job doesn’t allow her this kind of creativity, so she makes up for it in her spare time with sock monkeys (amongst other things). Stevie is also the editor of Hopscotch Friday, a sometimes photographer and occasionally dresses up as Wonder Woman, when time permits.
