What’s it all about?

Ever fancied a doodle and couldn’t find a pencil? Ever sit in a business meeting and thought you’d like to sketch in the margins of the page? What about sketching with pen?

Wonder no more. Come and learn to sketch with the under-appreciated ballpoint pen.

What will we cover?

Focusing on three different sketches, this class will start off with the basic method of using the ballpoint pen. Beginning with basic stick figure line work, we’ll move on to shading and overlaying elements to conclude up to three drawings including various texture methods.

This class will be focused on the beginner non-illustrator but will also include advanced methods and techniques for those interested.

Who will be teaching?

Michael Alesich is a prolific illustrator and artist. Cartoon illustrator for Froth Magazine, occasional mural artist and world famous at Melbourne cafés, Michael works in a variety of mediums but still keeps a ballpoint and notepad with him to jot down ideas. With over 50 sketchbooks already completed he’s well on to his way of getting to 100 before he turns 100. You can find out more about him at Michman.
