What’s it all about?

People today are so busy living in the past and future building up stresses and anxieties which means we hardly ever treasure the preciousness of each individual moment any more.

Take a chance to unwind, check in with your body and learn how to appreciate each day in this guided meditation class.

What will we cover?

In this workshop will unmask the common misconceptions about meditation and understand what meditation can offer us.

We will look into the history of meditation then move on to what current scientific findings have added to our understanding of how and why the brain responds to meditation.

The main focus however will be on exploring a number of different meditation techniques, such as visualisation, heart coherence and breath awareness, to find a style of meditation that is best suited for each individual.

Who will be teaching?

Jia Kho is a certified yoga and guided meditation teacher who incorporates mindfulness into her yoga practice. As a psychology major at the University of Melbourne, she found the science behind meditation and mindfulness so alluring that she loves to share with others. She would like to be part of the ‘mindfulness’ movement that is starting to change the way we live our lives.
