What’s it all about?

Good lighting can make or break the atmosphere in a room. With the mass produced white and beige shades taking over the stores like never before, it’s time to rebel and make yourself a fabulous, unique, personalized fabric lampshade to cast a stunning glow on your room.

Bring along a fabric that you love, or use one of ours, and let there be light!

What will we cover?

We’ll cover everything you need to know to make your very own lampshades. From fabric selection and lampshade making materials, all the way through to the construction and the finishing process.

There will be a live demonstration at the front of the room, as well as your own set of easy to follow instructions (with pictures!). All you need to bring along is yourself, and if you want to use your own choice of fabric, a 30cm x 70cm piece of lightweight cotton (quilting fabric is ideal). If not a range of fabrics will be provided.

Warning: Lampshade making is addictive! Once you’ve made your first one you’ll want to transform every lamp in your house!

Who will be teaching?

Kerry is the owner of Lovely Lady Lamps, a Melbourne based business that creates beautiful, colourful lampshades using retro, vintage novelty and fashion fabrics. Lovely Lady Lamps was started to make beautiful, high quality, handmade lampshades more accessible to everybody!
