What’s it all about?

Have you ever seen Riverdance and wondered how all of the sharp footwork and rhythms can be performed with such precision…and all with their arms by their sides? Now’s your chance to find out how it’s done! Taught by World Champion teacher and adjudicator Conor Ayres, this introductory class of Irish Dancing will teach the basics in both solo and ceili (group) dancing, covering footwork, posture and a brief background on the history of Irish Dancing.

Irish dancing has evolved since its humble beginnings. Now, due to the success of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, you see Irish dancing popping up in all sorts of mainstream media such as The Wiggles and the Graham Norton show.

What will we cover?

A brief history of Irish dancing, then let’s get physical! Dancers will learn the correct posture, basic steps, and a ceili (group) routine.
