What’s it all about?

Need to know your clove hitch from your bow line? A sheep shank from a sheet bend? Or even just a reef knot from a granny knot?

Knowing how to tie a good knot is an important life skill, whether you need to secure a load to the back of your ute, you’re secretly (or not so secretly) into bondage, or just need to tie your shoelaces. We’ll help you tighten up your skills and tie up the loose ends in your knotting knowledge.

What will we cover?

We will discuss the different types of knots before learning how to tie and use some of the most common ones, including:

  • bow line
  • granny knot
  • reef knot
  • clove hitch, other hitches and lashings
  • and more based on time and demand.

Before the class is up you might even find out that you’ve been tying your shoes wrong all this time!

Who will be teaching?

Lucie in a boxLucie Bradley is a web editor by day and a Jill-of-all-trades by night. She has spent many-a-day tying knots for bivouacs, make-shift stoves and stupid games and is looking to share the knot-tying love. Lucie is also one of the Laneway Learning team.
