What’s it all about?

We all want to be ‘good’, but what does it mean? The question of how to be good has been one of the most challenging questions for mankind to answer. It has been debated by philosophers, atheists and all of the world’s religions since time immemorial.

What will we cover?

How can we tell right from wrong? What guides us in our desire to be ‘good’? This class will examine how different philosophies have evolved over time to help us know the difference between right and wrong and the variety of beliefs around the ideas of ‘good’ and ‘bad’.

There will be many opportunities for discussion and debate around a range of ethical questions.

Who will be teaching?

Ittay Flescher (1)Ittay Flescher is an innovative educator. He currently works at an independent Secondary School where he teaches Aboriginal Studies, Philosophy and VCE Religion and Society.  He is passionate about interfaith dialogue, human rights, film and music. Ittay has been known to read his five year old daughter the UN Declaration of Human Rights as a bedtime story. When he sees problems in the world, whether large or small, he likes to understand the stories behind them and work with communities to fix them.
