What’s it all about?

If you have one wall or a little space then you can have an art collection. There are as many varieties of art as there are people, and collecting art is an exciting way to express your individual tastes and personality, enjoy the world we live in, and to decorate and enhance your everyday environments. And it doesn’t have to be expensive.

If you like art and the idea of collecting art but find the art world a little dull, intimidating, mysterious or even stuck up, this class is for you.

What will we cover?

Expect an unleashing of your inner art collector! As an introduction to the hobby of buying and owning works of art, we will cover everything from why to collect to what to collect, to how to collect, and more.

Who will be teaching?

Passionate about demystifying art appreciation, Suraya Warden ventured out on her own to work as an independent Art Consultant and Curator in South East Asia for five years. She serves to advise anyone interested in purchasing art for a home, office, boat, bunker, spaceship, wherever, towards getting the most value for their investment. Suraya’s love of art and interest in art history, the art market, and private art collections has taken her around the world from London to Hong Kong to Miami, but her (three) favourite paintings of all time happen to be in her hometown of Canberra, hanging permanently at the NGA.
