What’s it all about?

Would you like to learn to embroider and make an amazing piece of jewellery? Whether you would like to create a traditional sampler, stitch a contemporary design or sew your initials, you need to know the same basic stitches. Join us to learn how.

It’s not just the ladies of Jane Austen’s novels who like a bit of needlework. Embroidery can be a tranquil way of passing a couple of hours as well as a form of creative self-expression.

What we will cover?

This class is designed for beginners so we will start with some basics including how to thread a needle and place your fabric in the hoop. Throughout the class we will learn and practice running stitch, back stitch, split stitch and a French knot and combine these stitches to produce a piece to mount into a gorgeous miniature brooch frame from Dandelyne.

All materials will be provided but do bring along some ideas for your brooch design.

Who will be teaching the class?

Sue is an all round-crafty lady who will try her hand at anything in realm of the domestic arts. She has spent many years wielding needles to knit, crochet, sew and embroider and uses her skills to
artfully avoid doing the housework.
