What’s it all about?

This class will teach you the ABC’s of speech making by getting back to basics and then adding a little shine. Whether you are a soon-to-be bridesmaid, have your 50th wedding anniversary approaching or just want to get the nuts and bolts of speech writing under your belt, this class will help un-burn your toast.

What will we cover?

We will be learning how to write and present an impeccable toast. We will delve into how to put together a strong speech structure then explore how we can add a little sparkle for when you are in the limelight.

We will also look at what makes a fantastic speech and what makes one of those awkward ‘no one wishes they were here’ speeches, then consider the difference between the two. Come prepared with a speech topic and a few stories to work with! Maree knows all about the sweaty palms, dry mouth and blank mind when making a speech, so come along and learn how to be as cool as a cucumber when it’s your turn to test your public speaking skills.

Who will be teaching?

Maree is an avid Toastmaster and soon to be president of her home club. As a Kiwi who now calls Melbourne home (no, really, she never wants to go back!) you’ll find her on the netball court, at her local book club or baking slices using leftover biscuits from the workplace kitchen. Maree is an energetic and all-in kind of person that puts everything into what she’s doing and mentoring others in making a good speech is just another one of those things she enjoys.
