What’s it all about?

Do you feel like the more you read or hear about carbon emissions in the news, the less you understand about them? If you want to make sense of what politicians and businesses are saying about carbon, then this class is for you! Come learn the facts on Australia’s emissions and on what can be done to reduce them.

What will we cover?

In this class, we will explore:

  • What are the sources of carbon emissions in Australia
  • How emissions have changed in the past, and how they are expected to change in the future
  • What opportunities exist to reduce emissions further
  • What barriers are currently standing in the way of further reductions
  • How different types of policies impact emissions reduction activity

Who will be teaching?

denis-tnAmandine is Head of Research at ClimateWorks Australia, an independent, research-based, non-profit organisation committed to catalysing reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in Australia. She co-authored several major reports for ClimateWorks, including analyses of what opportunities exist to reduce Australia’s carbon emissions, and how much activity is already under way.

Prior to joining ClimateWorks, Amandine worked as a management consultant for McKinsey and Company in Sydney, advising clients in both the public and private sector on a wide range of matters including sustainability issues and carbon abatement opportunities and associated policies.
