What’s it all about?

What do brandy, vermouth and sherry have in common? They are all made from wine. So how did they get to be so different? Here’s a hint: one is distilled, one is fortified and one is made using maceration (or soaking) techniques.

Come along and learn a little more about these wonderful drinks!

What will we cover?

Hosted by Clare from The Humble Tumbler, this class will explore each of these techniques and how they’ve shaped some of the greatest drinks in the world. We’ll talk about the categories, what they taste like, how to buy and store and most importantly – how to drink them. You’ll taste three great examples too…you never know, your new favourite might be in the mix!

Who will be teaching?

Clare Burder is the director and founder of Eminence Wines – a boutique wine label from the King Valley, and The Humble Tumbler – a small Melbourne based business focused on wine education and events.

Clare’s speciality is teaching the basics of wine appreciation in an accessible, interactive and informative way, without all the fancy wine guff.
