What’s it all about?

Are you interested in exploring your family history but confused how, or where (or when?!) to start? Maybe you heard a rumour that you’re distantly related to the Queen, or Ned Kelly, and want to find out if it’s true.

Join us and start mapping out your own family tree.

What will we cover?

We will learn how to investigate our families’ origins: how do you get started?; where can you go to find information?; what sources are available? (The good news is most of them are free!); and how do you organise all this stuff once you’ve started collecting it?

We will be focusing on Australian family history to discover the lives and loves of your ancestors.

Who will be teaching?

Judy is a former librarian and currently an internal quality auditor for the Department of Defence. She has been delving into her family tree for more than twenty years, has recently contributed an article to the Genealogical Society of Victoria’s magazine “Ancestor” and would like to help us start our own detective journeys!
